The sunflower (Helianthus annuus), which belongs to the family of Asteraceae, is a crop grown worldwide for consumption by humans and livestock. Interspecific hybridization widespread sunflowers both in wild populations commercial breeding. current dataset comprises 250 bp 76 paired-end NGS reads six interspecific hybrids (F1). aimed expand Helianthus species genomic information benefit genetic research, useful alloploids’ features investigations nuclear–organelle interactions studies. Mitochondrial genomes perennial H. annuus × strumosus occidentalis were assembled compared with parental forms.
